How to Rescue Prisoners of the Watchtower News Releases

A new book accuses a religious organization of harboring and protecting sex abusers of children.

Joe B. Hewitt, who was a third generation Jehovah’s Witness, says in his book, Rescuing Slaves of the Watchtower, that unless a pedophile molests a child in front of two witnesses, no action is taken by congregation leaders.  “Who is going to molest a child in front of two witnesses?” Hewitt asks in his book.

When parents continually complain about a sex abuser in a Kingdom Hall, the elders may discipline them for “causing dissention in the congregation” and continue to protect the pedophile. He cites examples of complainants being disfellowshiped (excommunicated) and shunned while the pedophile continues unhampered.

The “two witnesses” rule is dogma put out by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.  All congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses are required to obey every order of the Society. “It’s one of many examples of total mind control the Watchtower exercises over Jehovah’s Witnesses,” Hewitt said. “They are slaves in need of rescue.”

The new book is available in Christian bookstores and on line at many Internet sites including
